A Strategic Approach to High School Dual Credit

South Dakota public universities offer degree pathways for high school dual enrollment students. These pathways advise on dual enrollment courses based on a student’s degree and career interests.

Degree Pathways Help With Advising

1. Get advising on courses that satisfy degree requirements.
2. Get access to degree planning tools used by SD public universities.
3. Earn an undergraduate certificate on their college transcript if/when complete the pathway.

Pathways Options

These degree pathways can significantly strengthen dual enrollment advising by giving students clearer direction and purpose. Course recommendations are tailored to career areas and satisfy general education requirements and some pathway-specific requirements.

If a student completes all courses in the degree pathway, they can earn a “stackable” undergraduate certificate on their South Dakota Board of Regents transcript.

A stackable credential is a short college certificate you can earn that counts toward a bigger degree later. Think of it like building blocks—each credential “stacks” on top of the next so the work you do now moves you closer to a diploma or career.
