Career Exploration

SDMyLife is an online career exploration and academic planning program for South Dakota 6-12 grade students. Log in to SDMyLife to learn how your interests align with careers through fun quizzes, discover your learning styles, and explore careers, colleges and majors! When you visit SDMyLife.com, you are one step closer to the education and career of your dreams.

Students can log in with their school email (K12) credentials or request their username from an educator or school counselor at their school.

Rising 7th and 8th grade South Dakota students have an opportunity to participate in free, five-day career exploration camps this summer. Hosted on South Dakota college campuses, these campers are exposed to various career paths by being immersed in engaging, hands-on learning. By the end of camp, students will have a better understanding of themselves, their career interests, and how their K-12 education prepares them for professions.

Career camps give students from a variety of grade levels opportunities to explore and experience careers firsthand. Camps are offered from various institutions and organizations throughout the state.

Mapping Your Future is a resource all South Dakotans should use when preparing for college. Funded in part by the South Dakota Community Foundation, this nonprofit’s mission is to enable individuals to achieve life-long success by empowering schools, students and families with college, financial aid, career and financial literacy information and services.

Career Ready SD provides a variety of tools and resources to help connect educators, parents, students, and industry to engage in work-based learning experiences. These experiences bridge academic, technical, and employability skill development to help students become college, career, and life ready, and to help businesses grow their future workforce.
