TK Discovery Days for Juniors

Event Description

Lake Area Technical College and the TechKnowledge Program are proud to announce 2026 TK Discovery Day for High School Senior, Juniors, and Sophomores interested in learning more about attending the TechKnowledge Program at LATC to become a John Deere Diesel Technician for Kibble Equipment. You’ll be in the classroom learning theory with the TK Instructors and then in the shop with the current TK Students as they work on Job Sheets. You will be paired up with a student for the morning classes and then have an opportunity to meet with the LATC Admission Team to learn more about LATC.

Event Description

Junior Tech Day is a fun-filled, information-packed day that will help high school juniors jump-start their decision process and provide direction for their future. Students find out what a day in the life of a Lake Area Tech student is like by meeting instructors and current students, working in the labs, doing hands-on activities, and meeting new friends. Career exploration is the focus. Visitors then eat a free lunch and absorb some basic information on the admissions process, applying for financial aid and scholarships, locating housing, and more! Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend.

Event Description

Discover Our Camp Program

Our residential camp is open to anyone interested in agriculture, cooperatives, Farmers Union, and leadership—no farming background required. All you need is curiosity about South Dakota’s leading industry.

Program highlights include:

  • A week-long overnight camp

  • Making friends from across the state

  • Learning from agriculture leaders

  • Tours of agricultural and cooperative facilities

  • Exploring cooperative principles

  • Plenty of fun activities

Campers can earn achievement trips and leadership awards through continued participation.

Transportation is includedwith multiple bus routes and convenient pick-up locations across the state.

Scholarships available.

Cost $100 for SDFU Members; $135 For Non-Members
