Advising Notes

  • Students planning to become secondary math or science teachers will take Calculus I (MATH 123) as part of their degree requirements. High School Dual Credit courses like MATH 115, MATH 120, or MATH 123 can be good options during their junior or senior year, but students must meet the prerequisites or pass placement tests to enroll in these courses.
  • Students planning to become secondary teachers in the humanities or social sciences need to take at least Mathematical Reasoning (MATH 103) for their degree. Any of the High School Dual Credit (HSDC) math courses listed above can meet this requirement.
