Survey of Calculus (MATH 121)

A survey of calculus including an intuitive approach to limits, continuity, differentiation, and integration with an emphasis on applications of the derivative and the integral as well as topics from multivariable calculus.

If MATH 121 is successfully completed as the High School Dual Credit equivalent, there is no need to take again in college.

Calculus 1 (MATH 123) will satisfy these degree requirements as well.

Calculus I (MATH 123)

The study of limits, continuity, derivatives, applications of the derivative, antiderivatives, the definite and indefinite integral, and the fundamental theorem of calculus.

Things to keep in mind for calculus pathways

  • Taking a college math course more advanced than the one outlined in the degree requirements will also satisfy the degree requirements.
  • Direct placement into college math courses includes other factors in addition to preparatory coursework, such as student GPA or math index score.
