Ruby’s Rainbow Scholarship

Our goal is to help as many college students with Down syndrome as we possibly can to go for their dreams of higher education and independence!
Awarded $1000-$10,000Students must be at least 18 years old and have the desire and intent to enroll or continue in a post-secondary class or program that will enhance their life through employment skills, independent living or life skills, or interests in any other areas. Students must provide copies of high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., certificate of completion), high school transcript if graduating in the spring of this year, or proof of acceptance to or current enrollment in a post-secondary program. Individuals who have previously been awarded a Ruby’s Rainbow scholarship can apply for another scholarship as soon as the following year.

DOD Cyber Security Scholarship Program

The Department of Defense Cybersecurity Scholarship Program (DoD CySP) is a nationwide program with the goal of increasing the number of qualified students entering the fields of cybersecurity, computer science, information assurance, and information technology at the Department of Defense through a scholarship for service program. These students will help secure the nation against threats of increasing attacks against our nation’s infrastructure and secure our country against threats.

 

Eligibility:

Students must be 18 or older, full time students and accepted into an appropriate program at DSU. Undergraduates must have completed at least 60 credits at the time at which they would receive the award. Students must have at least one year of school left (at least a fall and spring semester) in their plan of study (undergrad, graduate, or combination). Must meet minimum GPA standards of 3.2 (undergrad) or 3.5 (graduate).If awarded students can earn up to 100% tuition and fees covered plus a $27,000 undergraduate stipend or $32,000 graduate stipend. Includes funding for professional development and books, paid summer internship, and guaranteed job security following graduation in federal, state, local or tribal government.

Cyber Corps Scholarship

Funded by the National Science Foundation, the CyberCorps Scholarship Program awards around 10 new, high-achieving, driven students in security degree programs following their sophomore year at DSU. Recipients in this program can, by application, become part of the 4+1 program, which allows you to graduate with your bachelor’s and master’s degree in just five years. If awarded students can earn up to 100% tuition and fees covered plus a $25,000 undergraduate stipend or $34,000 graduate stipend. Includes $6,000 for professional development and books, paid summer internship, and guaranteed job security following graduation in federal, state, local or tribal government. Renewable for up to three years.

DSU Rising Scholarship

The DSU Rising Scholarship is available to new transfers who have completed less than 4 years of undergrad and are enrolled in an undergraduate degree program within the Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences. Students must have and continue to maintain full time status and a 3.25 cumulative college unweighted GPA.

 

Eligibility:

Applicants must be new transfers enrolled in an undergraduate degree program within the Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences at DSU. Scholarship requires minimum ACT score of 30 and minimum high school GPA of 3.00 to qualify.

John T. Vucurevich Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship is possible through a grant by the John T. Vucurevich Foundation to help students in their academic path to a living wage. Scholarships are for students enrolled in degree programs at Western Dakota Tech pursuing their career goals.

Scholarship requires minimum high school and/or college GPA of 2.00 to qualify. Scholarship selection may be based on financial need.

Needs based scholarship is possible through a grant by the South Dakota Education Access Foundation to expand access to postsecondary education. Northern Hills DAV Scholarship

Scholarships established by the Disabled American Veterans – Northern Hills Chapter 11 for veterans, their spouse, and their children to assist connection with meaningful employment and participating in the American Dream their sacrifices have made possible. Dr. Ken Gifford Memorial Scholarship

The Association of General Contractors supports two scholarships to assist with educational expenses required for study in Western Dakota Tech’s Architecture & Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Electrical Trades, HVAC/R, and/or Welding Programs. Scholarships are in memory of Dr. Ken Gifford who served as the Director for Western Dakota Tech from 1987-2000.Students interested in applying can use Western Dakota Technical College’s Universal Scholarship Application at the link provided.

Kids’ Chance of South Dakota

This scholarship supports students whose family was impacted by a serious or fatal work injury. If your family was impacted by an injury at work or on the farm, please apply. The award amount listed is an estimate and depends on circumstances and financial need.
