This scholarship honors the life of Mary Scott, a 1989 graduate of Alcester High School. Mary’s life ended tragically in December 1994 following a car accident. This scholarship is open to Alcester-Hudson High School seniors who have participated and excelled in Family and Consumer Science or Family, Career, and Community Leadership of America and demonstrate financial need.

This scholarship was established in 1997 to honor the memory of 11-year-old Kimberly Rose Means, who died in a tragic car accident in June 1981 on her way to participate in the annual Freedom Run at the South Dakota State Penitentiary.
