Dale Lokke Law Enforcement Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1989 by members of the Minnehaha County Deputies Association, comprised of members of the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Department who share a common belief in the importance of being active in the community in which we live.

Dakota Alliance Soccer Club Student Athlete Scholarship

This scholarship was created by the Dakota Gold Soccer Association to promote a positive soccer environment in the Sioux Falls area and to assist the Sioux Falls soccer community at large. In 2009, the Dakota Gold Soccer Association and the Sioux Falls Soccer Association merged to form the Dakota Alliance Soccer Club. This scholarship offers multiple awards.

Cogley-Buffington Certified Property and Casualty Underwriters Fund

This scholarship was created by the local Chapter of Certified Property and Casualty Underwriters in memory of Martin Cogley and Richard Buffington, who selflessly gave their time and energy to teach insurance and business courses to professionals in the Sioux Falls area. This scholarship benefits a graduating high school senior from the Sioux Empire who wishes to pursue an academic degree from an accredited institution and who demonstrates an interest in business.

Bill Barlow “Second Chance” Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1998 in honor of Bill Barlow, who retired after 30 years as president of the Sioux Empire United Way. More than 300 Sioux Falls area individuals and businesses contributed to this scholarship fund, which is intended to offer encouragement and support to a young man or woman who endeavors, after a bad start, to make the most of his/her potential.

Established by siblings Anna Lind and Paul Lind, life-long residents of the Alcester area, this scholarship is one of five awards established to benefit graduating high school seniors from the Alcester, SD community. Alcester was always Paul and Anna’s hope, and thanks to their foresight, it’s where their scholarship will make a difference – for good, for ever.

College scholarship for someone majoring in the Corrections and/or related field. Eligibility requirements – enrollment in a college/university/technical institution, SD resident interested in corrections or human services field, involved in school or community activities, GPA, and need for award. All schools, but must be college, university, or technical college.

The Cobell Undergraduate Scholarship

The Cobell Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunity is a non-renewable competitive scholarship that provides scholarship support to enrolled members of US Federally-recognized tribes with strong academic records who can demonstrate financial need and have not yet earned a four-year Bachelor’s degree. Available for students planning to attend a non-profit, public or private and accredited institution as a full-time degree seeking student. Duplicate degrees cannot be funded (i.e. No second Bachelor’s degrees). The award amount can be up to $5,000 a year for first time applicants, and up to $10,000 for returning Cobell Scholars. (Though requirements state that students must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA, a lower GPA may be considered)

CodeWizardsHQ Educational Scholarship

In an aim to increase access to higher education and broadening a diverse candidate pool for the future STEM workforce, CodeWizardsHQ has created the Educational Scholarship to support students in the attainment of their dreams. In order to apply students must provide proof of financial eligibility, a letter of recommendation, a statement of purpose essay, a curriculum Vitae (summary of experience and skills), Unofficial Transcript, and an optional video. Southeast Tech Scholarships

Current and newly accepted students to Southeast Technical College are eligible for Southeast Tech Scholarships that are funded through the Southeast Technical College Foundation. These scholarships are funded by annual and endowed gifts. The scholarships typically range from $500‒$1,000, and each scholarship has unique eligibility criteria.

John T. Vucurevich Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship is possible through a grant by the John T. Vucurevich Foundation to help students in their academic path to a living wage. Scholarships are for students enrolled in degree programs at Western Dakota Tech pursuing their career goals.

Scholarship requires minimum high school and/or college GPA of 2.00 to qualify. Scholarship selection may be based on financial need.
