Friends and family established the Justin Lake College Scholarship Fund to benefit graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue higher education. Awarded to a graduating senior of Tea Area High School in Tea, SD, and Huron High School or James Valley Christian High School in Huron, SD. Additional awards are available to graduating seniors who attend any South Dakota high school.

Established by Lennard Stenholtz, this scholarship honors the life of his son, James. James Stenholtz was a junior at Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, SD with interests in hunting, fishing, wrestling and football when he tragically passed away due to a rare form of meningitis in 1971. This scholarship is how Lennard and Margaret Stenholtz decided to celebrate the life of James and how much he meant to their family.
