The John Shoemaker Memorial Scholarship is a pool of $5,000 with scholarship amounts determined by the selection committee. This scholarship is for a student who desires to be in the construction industry (any field including general business fields) in South Dakota after graduation. This scholarship is administered by the AGC of South Dakota. Applying for this scholarship may include your application for up to 9 scholarship funds. An AGC of SD member sponsor is required but is easy to obtain and we can assist with this.
Eligibility:
- Must be a high school graduate or current college/technical student
- Be going into a construction-related career
- Be enrolled (or planning to enroll) in a postsecondary program working toward: certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree
- Have an AGC member sponsor
- Show financial need, involvement, and solid academics
- Intend to stay and work in South Dakota
