Established in 1989 by Helmer and Clifford Hovik, this scholarship honors the memory of their parents, Sigrid and Kristian. Sigrid and Kristian believed strongly in the value of higher education, and they worked hard to provide their sons with the opportunity to pursue college degrees. Sigrid and Kristian’s example made them sensitive to the financial strain students and their families often face in providing for college educations. It is with that in mind that the Hoviks established this award.

Eligibility:
- Scholarship may be awarded on Financial Need
- Lincoln County residents who are graduating seniors
- Applicants must be members of the Lutheran faith
Applicable Institutions:
ANY four-year college or university in the United States that is affiliated with the Lutheran church
