The Mines Merit scholarship program acknowledges and rewards outstanding academic achievements among its recipients. To be eligible for these incoming freshman scholarships, prospective students must be accepted for admission to South Dakota Mines by January 1, 2025 as well as have a 3.0 unweighted cumulative GPA from high school. The Premier Equipment CNC Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship available to manufacturing and engineering students (or any student interested in pursuing a career in CNC machining or CNC programming). This award is a one-time $1000 award to one student based on academic merit, participation in extracurricular activities and community service, one letter of recommendation from one of the applicant’s current or former teachers, and a personal essay.
