The South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) manages more than 350 scholarships, connecting students with the generosity of our donors. Each scholarship has its own eligibility criteria and deadline.
To apply, students should visit SDCommunityFoundation.org/Scholarships.
On the SDCF Scholarships tab, they should create a username and password on the For Students link. They will then complete a common application, which identifies the scholarships available for their high school. The system automatically matches students to potential scholarships, and students can review these matches to confirm their eligibility before applying.

The South Dakota Engineering Society – Eastern Chapter offers $2,000 scholarships to high school seniors pursuing engineering degrees at South Dakota State University or SD Mines. Applications are due by January 16, 2026. Recipients are presented with an award at the Chapter’s Engineering Banquet in February.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must attend a high school within the counties of the Eastern Chapter area. (Eastern Chapter area as found at www.sdes.org.)
- Must plan to attend South Dakota State University or South Dakota Mines in Fall 2026.
- Intended major must be in engineering.
- Must demonstrate the ability to handle responsibility, leadership skills, and academic achievement.

The Premier Equipment CNC Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship available to manufacturing and engineering students (or any student interested in pursuing a career in CNC machining or CNC programming). The Premier Equipment scholarship will help students reach their academic goals and train the next generation of engineers, CNC machinists and CNC programmers.

The Premier Equipment scholarship is looking to award a student currently in engineering or manufacturing with a $2,000 Scholarship. Application will include a personal essay as to why you deserve this scholarship.

South Dakota Cattlewomen (SDCW) is dedicated to promoting the beef industry in South Dakota. SDCW will award two – $1,000 scholarships to a young person attending or planning to attend an institution of higher learning in the upcoming semester.
This scholarship can be used at any accredited university, 2 year or 4-year college or technical school.

National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) is offering scholarships for high school seniors applying to engineering colleges in South Dakota. Applicants will be judged on national standards test scores, transcripts, extracurricular activities, and answers to questions on the application.
Regional deadlines vary:

- Black Hills Chapter Scholarship applications due January 31, 2025.

Established to support graduating high school seniors who wish to pursue an academic or technical degree in construction, this scholarship was established by the Siouxland Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). This scholarship offers multiple awards.
