The Klingbeil Scholarship is a competitive award for outstanding high school seniors planning to major in agriculture-related fields at South Dakota State University (SDSU).
Eligibility:
- Awarded to outstanding high school seniors based on academic and extracurricular activities.
- Students must major in agricultural systems technology, agronomy or precision agriculture.
- Students are chosen through a competitive selection process that could include an interview.
- At a minimum, students selected for consideration must have a 22 or higher ACT composite or superscore (or SAT equivalent) or have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have extensive leadership and extracurricular involvement.

The SD Farmers Union “Farming For The Future” media challenge offers a scholarship program for college and high school seniors interested in agriculture, aiming to bridge the gap between farm and fork. Participants will develop communication skills and advocate for South Dakota agriculture by sharing personal experiences or exploring agricultural topics through social media. Over seven weeks, students will network with industry professionals and engage in weekly challenges focused on specific agricultural products or issues, earning mini-scholarships and accumulating points towards larger scholarships. The top five participants will also have the opportunity to attend the South Dakota Farmers Union State Convention.

Ardell Bjugstad Scholarship Program is for Native American High School Seniors who are enrolled members of a federally recognized Indian tribe whose reservation is located in South Dakota or North Dakota. It is preferred that the student be a high school senior planning to earn a degree in agriculture or natural resources or a related field, though other majors would be accepted. Students can apply using the SD Board of Regents’ Scholarship Application Portal.
