South Dakota Department of Transportation Scholarship & Employment Opportunity

The SDDOT is offering a scholarship opportunity of up to $8,000 per year (with a maximum of $16,000) to college sophomores, juniors, and seniors who attend an ABET-accredited university and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Recipient shall remain employed by the SDDOT for a period of at least 18 months for each year of scholarship paid. Multiple positions available throughout the state.

The Lawrence Novotny Scholarship

The Lawrence Novotny Scholarship Essay Competition has chosen to provide scholarships to high school seniors who are heading to college and current college or trade school students. Students of any field of study can apply and are available to those who will attend or are already enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school in the state of South Dakota. One high school senior will be awarded a cash scholarship of $250 and one currently enrolled college student will be awarded a cash scholarship of $500. To apply, applicants must complete a packet of information which will include a completed essay on the following topic: Why is teaching 2SLGBTQ+ history in school important.

Equality South Dakota’s Audacity Award

Equality South Dakota’s Audacity Award is a scholarship for 2SLGBTQ+ and allied students who have been engaging in community service and/or activism work that seeks to better the lives of 2SLGBTQ+ people in South Dakota. This award is available to high school seniors who are heading to college, university, or trade school as well as current college or trade school students in the state of South Dakota. Sanford Health Military and Veteran Scholarship

The Sanford Health Military and Veteran Scholarship is awarded to any veteran, Guard/Reserve, or active duty military service member who has demonstrated exceptional character and leadership in furthering their own progress and in enriching the lives of others, especially in service, academics, and community involvement. Scholarship will open 6/27/2024.

Premier Equipment Scholarship

The Premier Equipment CNC Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship available to manufacturing and engineering students (or any student interested in pursuing a career in CNC machining or CNC programming). The Premier Equipment scholarship will help students reach their academic goals and train the next generation of engineers, CNC machinists and CNC programmers.

Grand Commandery Knights Templar of South Dakota Scholarship

Gordon Ingwersen Scholarship

This scholarship celebrates the life of Gordon Ingwersen. Gordon attended Longfellow Elementary School and graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD in 1940. He attended the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City and graduated with a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering.
