Paul Georgas Memorial Award

This award is a one-time $1000 award to one student based on academic merit, participation in extracurricular activities and community service, one letter of recommendation from one of the applicant’s current or former teachers, and a personal essay. Eligibility: To apply, the student must be a high school senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The recipient must demonstrate a desire to pursue a bachelor’s degree in education at a four-year South Dakota college or university following high school.

Graduating high school seniors from Doland High School are eligible for this award. Graduating seniors from Washington High School in Sioux Falls who plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational or technical school can apply for this award. They must also demonstrate financial need, have maintained a “C” average or higher, and be committed to their educational goals.
