Students entering 7th and 8th grade in the 2024-2025 school year can participate in free, five-day residential career exploration camps this summer. Hosted on South Dakota college campuses, these camps expose students to various career paths through fun, engaging and hands-on learning. Throughout the week, campers will spend time with instructors, take field trips to area businesses, participate in interactive exercises and more, gaining a better understanding of themselves, their career interests and how their education prepares them for professions.

The Tech and Innovation Summer Camp at Northern State University is an incredible opportunity for students in grades 9-12 to explore the latest technology and innovation. This free summer program offers a range of themes, giving you a chance to discover a field that aligns with your interests.
Our camp runs from Sunday, June 16 to Thursday, June 20. On-campus meals and lodging will be provided along with nightly activities and service learning sessions.
Our primary aim is to inspire tech innovation and provide hands-on learning experiences in core web technologies within a project-based environment. Expect to see sessions on:
- Coding and developer tools
- Digital media content creation
- Entrepreneurship and business
- Science and technology
During this program, you’ll learn from experts in the field and engage in hands-on activities that will help you develop your skills and creativity. By the end of the program, you will have gained a deeper understanding of tech entrepreneurship and how you can use technology to create innovative solutions that impact society.

Southeast Tech is offering a FREE Engineering Camp this summer for students in grades 9-12. Students will get the opportunity to learn more about careers in Engineering Technology and Mechatronics while participating in hands-on activities and industry facility tours. Snacks, lunch and transportation to industry sites are included!

This FREE camp is focused on career awareness and exploration and is open to high school students. Western Dakota Technical College offers nearly 40 programs in Business & Computers, Construction and Manufacturing, Energy and Environmental Technologies, Health Sciences, Legal and Public Services, and Transportation Technologies. Mitchell Tech’s Culinary Camp is hands-on camp open to freshman to seniors, designed to teach students the fundamentals of cooking and culinary arts. Students will have the opportunity to learn from experienced chefs in ourt state-of-the-art kitchen facility.
In addition to cooking skills, students will also learn about Mitchell Tech’s culinary program and the various career opportunities available in the culinary industry. The camp will include a tour of our kitchen facilities, giving students a firsthand look at our equipment and resources.
